Session 3-Cyber gaming

19. :D
a) I don't think that pursing a career with gaming industry is a profitable job. And it is also not advisable because one may get addicted to the game. But if that is your dream, one should know how to control his or herself and that may also be a good thing. Because living life without dreams would be meaningless.

b) He is a perseverant person and has a strong dream. Despite meeting obstacles and setbacks, he is determined not to give up and do his best. Finally he was given an opportunity and his hard work finally paid off.

20 (:
i think that it is not wrong to pursue your dreams. everyone has dreams. whether it is productive or not is subjective. if you were to live without a dream, wouldn't your life be aimless? since you have no sense of direction; no aim in life. it is better to have a dream than not to.

he is a very determined person. despite having many setbacks, having his projects rejected and all, he still hasn't given up. if a person is not determined, he would probably just given up. without being sure about what he wants in life, he might just change his mind and head for another industries like science since he was already gotten a degree in NUS.

Session 4- cyber bullying

20! (:

i think that the above statement is not true. hurt can be done physically, emotionally and mentally. words can hurt one's mentality. word's can hurt someone mentally. verbal abuse falls under the category of emotional abuse. by insulting and defaming someone, you are hurting someone's dignity and ego. the words here is refering to the insults that are thrown in your face, directly or indirectly. the person is likely to feel hurt, sad, angry and helpless. you can verbal abuse someone online via your blog or chatrooms. the victim will feel the hurt and pain and this is exceptionally unbearable if the victim doesn't confide in with someone.

words can hurt someone.

Session 2- Cyber Crap

He should not believe the guy and not believe the guy to purchase the medicine. He should not open the file attachement as it may contain virus. he also does not know the person.

20:

I think that he shouldn't open the file attachment as he doesn't know who this person is. the file may or may not contain harmful virus. even if it is rated urgent, it shjould not be trusted as john doesn't know this person.

if i were him i wouldn't open the file as i don't even know this person. i would delete it immediately.

such spam messages shouldn't be trusted.

Session 5

with increasing affluence in today's society, it is possible that girls my age do think this way. they are probably influenced by some books, inappropriate websites or movies. personally i don't agree with her. i think a relationship is getting to know someone. according to the article, the girl
had got to know the boy online. the persona that the guy portrays may not be his real one.

i think that for people my age, having a relationship is too early. personally, i think that at this point of time, one should be fcusing on their studies. but honestly, if they can handle the relationship, and not let it affect their studies, it maybe possibly if their parents do not mind.

whether it is appropriate or not really depends on an individual.

session 1! (:

cyber bullying is basically bullying online.

i think what is reflected on the video is very very true and possibly in our everyday lives. by posting your name and personal particulars, which is meant to be private, it is easily accessible by other people easily. by doing so, we are unknowingly endangering ourselves as we might be potential victims of cyber bully.

the girl in the video is very well known because of her blog. but is it really worth it? exchanging your personal life, information and privacy for something like hits on your blog or being famous on the internet? personally i don't think it's worth it. the hits and "cyber fame" is evidently only good for your blog and avatar on the internet and does not help in your future. my life is definately worth more than fame on the internet.

We should be able to differentiate whether something is private or public. something that is private should not be posted on blogs that are freely accessible by others. public information is something that is considered harmless information.

the message of the video is very clear and obvious; think before you post.
